I want to meet the man who will make me wonder how we managed not to meet sooner. And then see what we can build from there.
I have a small theory that you can learn a lot about a person from the things that make them laugh. Not from the polite laugh we all use sometimes. I mean that completely uncontrolled moment when you try to remain serious, fail, and suddenly everyone around you starts laughing too. I love people who have that effect on me. Humor is important in my life because it changes the temperature of almost any situation. A difficult day becomes lighter. An awkward moment becomes a story. Even a disagreement can lose half of its drama when two people suddenly realize how ridiculous they both look. I am naturally cheerful, but that doesn't mean I walk around permanently smiling at the world. I can be emotional, stubborn, tired, annoyed and occasionally convinced that everyone should leave me alone for exactly fifteen minutes. Then something makes me laugh and my internal tragedy loses most of its importance. I like that about myself. I don't want to become a woman who takes every little thing too seriously. Life will provide enough genuinely serious moments without my help. Maybe that is also why I came to this dating site. Somewhere here may be a man whose sense of humor fits mine in that strange, effortless way that cannot really be explained. Of course, I am open to love and a real relationship. But first I would like to discover whether we can make each other laugh. Because if one man can still make me laugh when I am absolutely determined to be annoyed, I think he already has a very unfair advantage.
There is one thing I would never want to lose in a long relationship, and that is curiosity about each other. I don't want to reach the point where we think we already know every answer simply because we have been together for years. People change. New fears appear, old dreams disappear, priorities shift, and sometimes even we surprise ourselves. I want a man who understands that loving someone also means continuing to discover who that person is becoming. I would like us to keep asking questions, even after we already know each other's favorite food, habits and stories. What are you thinking about lately? What do you want now that you did not want five years ago? What makes you happy these days? Is there something you have never told me because I never thought to ask? That kind of interest feels incredibly intimate to me. I am on this dating site because I want to meet a man who is looking for a relationship that continues to grow instead of simply becoming familiar. For me, love is not knowing everything about someone. It is wanting to keep knowing them. Maybe that is one of the secrets of staying close for a long time. Never deciding that the person beside you has become completely predictable. I want to look at my man years later and still occasionally think, I didn't know that about you.
